01 — what soliton is

soliton is a fixed-supply token on ethereum mainnet. the contract serves two functions: it is the token and the uniswap v4 hook governing its soliton/sol pool. every swap through that pool surrenders two percent of its input to the hook, which routes the proceeds into an internal reservoir. that reservoir releases back to nodes continuously — every block, independent of whether any trading is occurring.

most tokens pay in discrete events. soliton does not. node balances increase on every block. the wave does not wait for permission.

02 — how propagation works

each swap seeds 2% of its volume into the reservoir. the reservoir drains over a rolling 24-hour window, modulated by recent swap activity. a quiet medium accelerates the release rate. a busy medium slows it.

at any block, per-block amplitude equals reservoir_balance / horizon_blocks. the hook calculates elapsed blocks on every interaction and credits each node proportionally to their current balance. no transaction required. no signature. the math runs continuously in the background.

03 — the cooldown

nodes entering position do not accumulate amplitude for their first 50 blocks (~10 minutes). this closes the attack surface where a buyer enters immediately before a large swap, captures the rebase, and exits. anyone holding beyond ten minutes is unaffected. the window exists only to disqualify positions with no holding intent.

04 — dynamic horizon

the release window is not a constant. the hook tracks a rolling swap count across the last 1000 blocks and uses it to modulate the horizon continuously. high velocity pushes the window toward 48 hours. low velocity pulls it toward 6 hours.

the protocol reads the temperature of its own medium. when trading is dense, the reservoir stockpiles. when trading is sparse, it releases quickly. no governance vote. no parameter update. the formula adjusts itself.

05 — the v4 hook

one contract. one address. token, hook, and reservoir unified. beforeSwap captures the fee. afterSwap writes to the velocity buffer. beforeAddLiquidity and beforeRemoveLiquidity prevent lp mechanics from interfering with rebase accounting.

prior to v4, this required multiple contracts coordinated by external routers. issuance lived separately from fees, which lived separately from distribution logic. v4 eliminates the seams. everything runs inside one object.

06 — no operator

no team allocation. no foundation address. no admin key. no pause, no upgrade path, no withdrawal function, no privileged caller anywhere in the contract. the 2% fee is hardcoded. the horizon floor and ceiling are hardcoded. the cooldown window is hardcoded.

the deployment has no dependencies on its creators. if every associated wallet were destroyed tonight, the wave would propagate tomorrow without interruption.

07 — what holders do

nothing. nodes hold. the wave arrives regardless. balances increase on every block proportional to amplitude and position size — no staking contract, no lock period, no claim, no signature. exit whenever. the accumulated balance is yours the moment it lands. only future amplitude stops accruing when you leave.
